Director’s Message – May 2, 2022

Dear Friends,

“Tell the bad times to scram!”  were the words of Erin Hazelton in our first meeting to dream up this year’s gala. She and co-chair Kristen Renehan have taken them to heart!

They have created a Roaring ‘20s evening for legends:

To begin, High Hat Circle guests will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate inside the museum. With a nod to Theodate’s husband, Ambassador John Wallace Riddle, who was renowned for having the best alcohol during the prohibition (thank you diplomatic pouch!), we’ll gin up a speakeasy and serve cocktails from the butler’s pantry pass-through, while listening to the captivating duo, Acute Inflections.

Then we’ll move to our inimitable front lawn to enjoy more cocktails by Highclere Castle Gin and their mixologists, Khalid and Tiffany Nevers, a delicious meal, and a sure-to-be-lively live auction (one special item being a house rental on Ireland‘s famed golf course Lahinch).

The sun will set and take our breath away, as usual, then we’ll dance and dance, under the stars, as long as the town allows. We’ll be able to rest between songs in an enchantingly lit Sunken Garden where the musical duo will have moved from the speakeasy, to carry us into the night with their dulcet tunes.

Together, a magical and unforgettable way to celebrate Hill-Stead’s 75th anniversary – building a wave of support to send her off toward her next 75. And having a fabulous time doing it!

Please join us, with fun in your heart and your favorite 20s attire.

See you at the party!
warmly,

Anna
