Activities and programs at Hill-Stead reflect the museum's founding idea – to be a welcoming place for learning, enjoyment and reflection. Visitors of all ages participate in indoor-outdoor festivals – Hay Day in October, Wreath Ramble in November, May Market in spring and the Sunken Garden Poetry Festival in summer. Lectures and gallery talks attract arts-and-heritage lovers, gardeners and landscape aficionados. A weekly Farmers Market July through October provides the community with easy access to the freshest CT grown products. Hill-Stead also offers exceptional opportunities for travel, both nationally and internationally.
